Bamboo Shrimp Molting

Hi there. We got a bamboo shrimp right before Christmas 3 months ago and he has molted twice since and I believe he is working on a third time. How often do they do this?
Thanks for the great site. Now that I found it I will keep checking back.

pretty sure it depends on what and how much they have to eat, i.e. how fast they're growing

Sounds like normal molting times.

Sounds like he's doing fine. Molting means growth, and growth means he's eating. A lot of bamboo shrimp don't make it.

Yah...mine seem really healthy too, molting frequently (every couple weeks). I thought they were hardy?

Yes. Especially compared to other shrimp. I had 2 for 1-1/2years.

Because they are wildcaught, many of them don't survive the initial shock of transport. At least that's what I've read.

I just got three - the largest one didn't make it. I just came home tonight to find him. He seemed pretty lethargic from the beginning. He was the biggest darn one, too
