BCS Bowl game predictions

Vince Young gets a lot of hype (deservedly so). However, going to the NFL is a major change and I don't believe he is any better than Vick was in college. I'm not even sure he is that much better than McNabb was in college.

People are saying that he is the best player they ever saw play? Maybe at this particular moment in college. He is obviously quicker than everyone at that level. The NFL is much faster than college though. And they can tackle. Many of the linemen in the NFL are quicker than some average LB's in college. It's a big difference in talent level. Texas sets up their offense for Young to run the ball. That is easily stopped in the NFL. He'll be forced to throw the ball and then we will see just how good he is. Maybe he will be great.

He's good and he'll be fun to watch in the NFL in a couple years but I just don't think he should be called the greatest college QB ever. It's just the media though...they have to talk about something and they are always over zealous!!!

Sorry for the ranting. I just don't like when the media praises someone by saying they are the "greatest ever" to play the game. It's almost like they get caught up in the emotion of the game and don't even realize what they are saying. Ok, I'm done now. Just my $0.02!! ;)
 
The reason Carr gets sacked so much is Houstons weak line. If Young declares this year and goes to the Texans he still has to play behind the Speed Bump.

I fully agree, Our Juvenile delinquent tailback in 2000 was touted as possibly the best running back in OSU history, and he barely made it through one season. He was phenominal when he was on the field, but didn't have the mental capacity or personal discipline to ever be great. I think right now he is hiding from the law here in Columbus, If he gets out of jail in time maybe he'll try to make an NFL team again next year (yeah right!!)

The media jumps on the hot story or the hot player and seldom looks at the big picture. Very few players have the discipline and toughness to be great for years and years especially in the NFL. Time will tell of course, and whether it's this year or next, Vince Young will get picked very high in the draft and have his shot in the pro's. Once there, he'll get beat up pretty significantly, and then we'll know how good he really is.

I heard Young is going for the pros next year.

Do you think he'll be in the top three picked? Over Leinhart? Bush?
