Best Choice for Single Species Rift Lake 55g

What do you not like about the above fish selection hollyfish The OP was wanting recommendations for a single specie not all of them together..

The OP listed four fish and wanted to know if any of these would go with a Rift Lake tank (if I understood the questions on his original post). he listed four fish, including salvini and rainbowfish. None are combatable in an African tank IMHO. I don't mix old and new world cichlids and when doing an African tank (my experience is male peacock/hap tank and Vic tanks), I use only fish from one lake (with the notable exception of synos).

Just my way of doing it, and thus my opinion. He did say one species. Labs are a colorful and interesting single species that would do fine in the tank he's considering. The addition of a single colorful male peacock was just an idea that the OP is certainly free to ignore!

Definitely appreciate everyone's thoughts on my questions. I spent an hour last night crawling all over my place with a tape measure figuring out where I might have space for more tanks (I <3 MTS) .

Yeah i see that now Hollyfish ooppss sorry yeah i wouldn't recommend mixing lakes either joel..

LOL been there and done that you sound like me hehehe.. MTS rules..

Single species rift lake I would have tropheus or for the slightly smaller tank brichardi.

I just picked up a tank!!! 60g, 48 x 15 x 17 inches

Still debating whether I should use it for shuffling my new worlders...If I decide to go African, I'll start up a build thread to track progress.

Hey all....I'm doing some thinking about my tank in between festivities. What about calvus and lelupi? Maybe 4 of each? 6 of each? What would be a good mix?

Thanks all, happy holidays!

Hey all,...so.....(A) ...bump ;)
(B) I've seen some info online that makes me think leleupi and calvus are ok together, so I'll probably try that. I'll also probably add 3 upside-down catfish from my predator tank. I think they've been eating beef heart and other carnivore fare which isn't good for them.

So plan for the new year is: get filters, build rock-work, and cycle....still looking for any comments, though, on stocking #'s.

Thanks!
