I was wondering what brand of fish food you all use? More importantly are there any brands out there that I shold be avoiding?
I like to feed variety of flakes, crumbles, pellets, live foods etc and wanted to make sure I give them the good stuff.

would love to hear your opinions.

I personally mix tetramin and tetracolor in the morning, and at night I feed either omegaone super veggie, frozen daphnia, or freeze-dried bloodworms. The veggie flakes and freeze-dried bloodworms can be mixed up, but the daphnia should only be fed once a week, but this depends on the fish you have. I have platies, so I feed them more veggies than frozen foods, but carnivores would prefer the opposite.

Good question! I'm interested in this myself... the only thing I can add is that I recently started using garlic but it seems fish specific - my mollies go absolutely crazy for it, my pleco won't touch it. I also use live blackworms, but as for their nutritional value, I'm clueless. My flake food is the standard Tetramin.

I alternate day to day with tetramin flakes, spirulina flakes, brine shrimp, freezedried blood worms once in a while as a treat I feed this food to the fish in my 36g. At night I drop two sinkable pellets for my catfish. My bettas get betta flakes or pellets bloodworms once a week and I started giving them brine shrimp.

If you want to feed top-quality prepared food, I suggest New Life Spectrum or Omega One. If you read the ingredients list you will see that either brand is superior to Tetra, or Wardley, or other standard brands. If you supplement their high-quality staple diet with frozen meaty foods and/or fresh veggies your fish will get the best quality diet.:)

My fish go crazy over anything that is Top Fin, they usualy are more of the frezze dried food. I use Tetra Min for my flake food and The frozen food at petsmart is Great I get Krill, bloodworms and beef heart.

Omega here ...........:)
