WOW, what a beautiful fish!!!! I also think a unique (copper or white) color should be the get go. Have fun picking out your new friend!

what a great looking chocolate betta you have there Emg hes soo pretty,
I have 4 and one is White with Red marbled into his tail fins, ones blue with purple fading into red fins, ones Chocolate with really dark blue fins, and ones hot pink with purple &red fins they all have there own characteristics, Hmm yeah one is with the other fish in my community tank just because hes the oldie and i didnt want to stress him out putting him into a betta Barrack so i left him out being 3 and a half years old now.

Here's a pic of my copper DT betta.... :D I've named him Zorro because he has a black mask...

Very nice Emg you have alot of really amazing Bettahs you should post all of them and there names!!

Thanks BG....I only pick extrodinary bettas. When I'm looking for a new one I try to go the day the store gets them in..best chance of getting an unusual one, not to mention more healthy...

When I picked up that copper fella, there was another one right next to him. Had a time deciding which one to bring home...lol....I picked the one that didn't have any dicernable red in his fins.....the other fella had black outlining all his scales....very cool....I just love these fish !

Emg Nice pics. I too try to find the one of a kinds when I got to get a new betta, it's the only way. There are so many reds and blues that it almost makes it undesirable to have one of those colors, or so it does to me. I have three, one red (actually my mom wanted that one), one that is kind of pink/red/purple body w/ blue fins, and one that is kind of an orange color w/ black dots outlining his scales. My vote is for the most exotic betta you can find!

I agree VT....I'm not too overly thrilled with the blues and reds either....sometimes that's all that they have in the store....but, I do have a red one...my son wanted that one and named him FruitPunch...lol....he sure is a fruit punchy color...pretty, for a red...lol..

I have a green with orange fins..though his fins aren't the greatest, I got him for his color. I have a beautiful golden yellow male..and female...they'd make a great pair if I was up for another spawn...I'm NOT ! lol.. I also have a white with pale blue coloring on his fins and dark blue gills. A neon purple colored male and female...again...another nice pair if I was so inclined. I have 2 steel blue males from my last spawn. I kept them because they were "special" lol...one of them is a CT..the other a ST(spade tail)

I recently picked up a beautiful double tail marble fella....white with brownish markings that had bits of blue/green shiny colors in the brown when the light hit him right...and his fins were clear...just beautiful...but I brought him back when it turned out he had swim bladder issues. I would have kept him but I paid 15$ for him and didn't want a defective betta for that price...pretty as he was. I was at the store today and saw him in a tiny betta cup...back on the shelf for sale. In my experience, such issues only get worse as they grow. Looked like an issue from overfeeding as a fry...underdevelped swim bladder...anyway...I was very sad when I noticed...and decided to take him back... :(

"...and decided to take him back... "

You really took him back, Emg ?? Bravo :)
That's a true Betta lover

Yes really!!!,
Im planning on getting my Last Betta Barrack filled up but you know you gotta wait for the special boy to catch your eye!

Yeah, I took him back....that's the FIRST time I EVER did that....lol....very sad experience...I liked that one alot...I don't have any double tails either... :( They had a few more but none were as pretty as he was.... :sad

Ah well...enough of that...lol....I'm sure something else will come around...I really don't have any more space for another betta....well, I DO but....lol....I'm trying to exibit SOME level of self control here...

I did manage to take a few lousy pictures of him before I brought him back...this is the best one...it was hard to get a good shot of him because he couldn't swim down towards the bottom of the tank, but this one shows his colors wonderfully !! Just look at all that sparkling color !!......his fins are so clear it's hard to see the beautiful double tail he had...it was PERFECT !! ...(gee, maybe I should go and get him back... lol)
