Betta Sorority Tank

Most of the LFS in my area carry female bettas on a regular basis. If yours does not I would first ask if they can special order any for you before looking online. A lot of bettas are sold on aquabid, I believe.
i guess i'm mostly concerned about gettting a male that was labeled female which as we all know happens a lot seeing as most lfs are undereducated when it comes to this hobby. ANyone ever have any problems if not what stores specifically did you get them from?
thanks again,

to determine a female from a short finned male you need to look on the underside of the fish right behind the ventral fins. if there is a white knobby looking protrusion then you have a female. this white 'knob' is called the ovipositor, and is part and parcel of the female reproductive anatomy.

I've never had an issue with them being mislabeled as all the LFS I've been to separate them by sex (as they should). Any error would likely be from the supplier sending them males instead of females.

But BFM is correct on how to ID them, just to be sure.
