Big Plans!

Yeah, I'm very short so most of my tanks need a step stool for maintenance haha...

This tank is my tallest though

"Yes! Breeding stars is a goldfish term for the little white speckles on the male goldfish gill plates and sometimes elsewhere."

I have never heard them referred as breeding stars, but my mother taught me about the white dots on the opercula on some of her own goldfish ... about 55 years ago! She knew what she was doing and was breeding quite a few species back then.
The white dots are indeed very useful; unfortunately they usually don't stay year round.

I am fairly short too, so I build this 'long stepper' next to my tanks in the basement. For other tanks, sometimes step stool!IMG_0296.jpg

This is fantastic!!! I need this for my fish room when I get one!

And yeah the breeding stars don't always stay, they come and go with the fish's moods and conditions.

My old fantasy fish room included a walkway behind the taller tanks with plumbing, drains etc., so just the pretty parts showed in my "lounge". I now know how hard it is to scape a tank from the back to front.

FJB, I love yours...but where's the viewing recliners on wheels? You're close to my dream set up

At my peak I was 5'5" (165cm). But gravity and a missing disc have taken an inch away. I use a step stool and a small A frame ladder with 3 steps. The top of my 150 and 125 are an inch and 2 inches shorter than I am.

If it weren't for folks like us. who would keep all the short fish?

I like to think I am at my peak now.
Well, that is me thinking pipe dreams.

My peak is where I'm at, at a whole 5' exact
