BioSpira is not available in Canada, and it is because it has not been approved for import due to it being a biological product. I doubt it's a high priority item for the CFIA.
This is Marineland Labs' response to my inquiry:
I appreciate the email. Unfortunately the Canadian Government will not alway Bio-Spira into the country. We have tried for several years to ship Bio-Spira into Canada, but so far have been unsuccessful. I will attempt to contact the scientists at Marineland this week to check on the statis, but I don't think it is hopefull at this time. I will let you know what I find out.
Sincerely,
Cristi Golden

And further info:
I just heard back from Dr. Tim Hovanec (head of BioSpira) and he is still working on placement in Canada, no success yet!
We will keep working on it....
Cristi
I got some BioSpira from relatives who travelled to the US. They were able to refrigerate it on their trip home. Otherwise, I wouldn't trust BioSpira to make it here through mail or courier and still be viable...especially if it gets stopped in customs for a while.
