Trafty, you can boil it for a minute, or even pop it in the microwave for a few seconds. You basically just want to soften it up a little to make it easier to eat for little fishy mouths.

I finally got some black mystery's the past weekend, 2 yellows and 1 black and 1 brown...i enjoy watching them a lot but, one of my yellow snails has been acting very weird lately...
a couple days ago he was floating at the top of the water for the entire day...i took him out and touched his stopper (he looked to be out of his shell ever so slightly) and he didnt close up or anything...just nothing. then a day later he was crawling around on the side of a rock, acting just fine....now another day later and he's floating again...does anyone know why he might be doing this?? it seems very strange to me?

Apple snails tend to go inactive for periods of time, and if they happen to have air in their lungs when they're inactive, they float
