i have a blood parrot "Peachy" and a firemouth cichlid "Red". i don't know Peachy's age, but Red is at least 2 years old. they apparently hooked up and began building a cave, removing one rock at a time.. this took several days and then the day before yesterday Peachy began laying eggs. so i guess Peachy is a she. And then Red would go into the cave and shake around? Can anyone give me a clue about this seemingly "interacial" affair?

well...i dont think your fish be having any babys but if they arent hurting each other i think it would be ok to let them do there thing

Ah, love truly is colour blind :D
I agree with fishdude, I don't think they can sucessfully crossbreed, but there's no harm in letting them try. If we're wrong, you might end up with some wieeerd little fry!

yep, i think you are all correct, they have eaten most of the eggs and life seems to be getting back to normal in the tank. thanks for your responses.

Oh BP's and FM's can cross alright, thats what this little guy is.
