BLUE GILL IN A 29G???

i know that, thats true for all fish.... if something is smaller then them they will try to eat it....even if it doesnt fit in their mouth lol but there isnt a compatible bottem dweller that would go well with him?

do you live nearby a clear, shallow stream? then you might be able to get a madtom catfish. they grow to about 4-8" long depending on species and would make good bottom dwellers for him, though he may eventually get big enough to eat them.

i live right next to lake michigan by downtown milwaukee.... and theres a lot of ponds and lakes taht are nice on the outskirts of the city... but im not sure what native fish would suite the him the best

THere are some species of "bluegill sunfish" that are smaller at adult size. One such fish that I keep is called a "Pumpkinseed" (my avitar is a pic of my Pumpkinseed)

A 29 might be OK if you start with a small specimen. Feeding is easy, they will accept most food from the lfs, plus worms, crikets, plus homemade beef heart based fish food recipes.

They are agressive, and even in a much larger tank, you need to have either 1, or 3-5, never just two. One will become dominant and will literally pester the other to death.
