You should install some moonlights if you don't have any. Like you said, it is a different world in the tank at night and moonlights help you enjoy it.
I got a huge rock from the lfs that was covered with various mushrooms in my bio cube with in a couple of days some of them left the rock to find other places in the tank but they are still there and apparently happy.
So my emerald crab died. I suck at keeping inverts. It's just as well though because he was DESTROYING my feather duster population.
I've been having some temp spikes(83) and 1 nitrate spike. I was trying to rinse and reuse my filter floss but that didn't work. I'll use new each time instead.
On a brighter note the corals are looking great and my snails are happy. My white hermit is still kicking and today I caught one of my blue legs streaking(running around without a shell). Very odd.
Stocking plan:
Mid August
Cleaner shrimp
Porcelain crab(maybe later if I decide to get an anemone crab instead)
End of September
Pair of perc clowns
Seems about right if my parameters are still looking good. I'm still very VERY nervous about adding fish though.
Hammer is a lot happier. Tried feeding it today but I'm not really sure where the mouth is. It did seem to respond though so hopefully he got some food.
The duncan is all about the eating!
New Urchin
In the hammer picture you can see some neat dark blue sponges that came in with my rock. There is also a tiny pink feather duster that lives right by the hammer. I know hammer corals sting but the feather duster doesn't seem affected.
