Hi all, I have three pygmy i was told, bristlenose plecs..
I want to breed them of course.
But i dont know what sex they are as there are no bristles anywhere on their head

Any idea how i can condition them.

They are having frozen blodworm, broccoli, peas, courgettes and tablet food, one type every other day, plus they have a nice piece of bog oak to chew on.
I will get pics of each individual one

If you have no bristles, than you don't have a male of breeding age.

As far as conditioning, I've heard different, conflicting things, so I'd like to see what others here say (as I have a pair of albinos I'd like to breed).

BTW, I really like the angel in your avi.
 
Pictures can be a little deceiving as to the actual size of the pleco. Do you know how old they are? Sometimes male bristles are slow to show, that's why I need to know the age of them.
 
I was told they are a year 8 months to a year, two of the catfish have bristles and one does not.. well they have not shown yet...

The angel in the avi, yes that one is about 6 years old.. Believe it or not, never bred even thoough it has had numerous other angels with it.. It is a lovely fish.

If two have bristles around the mouth, then they are your males. At 8 months to a year of age, the other one should be showing at least the beginnings of bristles if it is a male and it's not. So we'll assume that it is a female. There is not such thing as a pygmy bristlenose. Looks like you have common species bristlenose and they'll be 4-5" when full grown. If you truly have 2 males and 1 female, your males may fight to the death over her. It's time to put a cave in the tank so the male can explore in anticipation of spawning. Spawning should take place in the next couple of months. Feed them lots of zuchinni and some frozen bloodworms if they'll eat them. Mine don't eat them very readily. Keep an eye on the females belly. The females will almost look as if they are developing dropsy when they are filling up with eggs. It is quite noticeabe.
 
the fish are around 2 inches long,they do chase each other around, but nothing really badyet!!!
They all eat peas cucumer corgettes, broccollii, forgive the spelling.. and love bloodworm.
i will put a cave in and see.
If they do become overly aggresive i will seperate them...
Have an old 3ft getting re vamped as i write, this will be there home shortly..

Are pictures 3 and 7 (down from the top) the same fish?
 
Mine is 5 inches and doesn't have bristles. Does that mean it is definitely a female?
