The white butterfly is quickly becoming one of my favorites! First of all, even though he is the smallest of the group, (2 inches, biggest is the altum flora at 4 inches) he is also the bravest! It's so funny! He darted right up to my hand when I fed the blood worms when the others were a little bit weary. When he saw that he was the only one there, he slowly went back to the group. Haha. He was the first to wander to the other side, explore, etc. I just love him. And his colors have gotten so much better overnight, even since taking these shots. Getting food in them really made their colors pop. I couldn't have gotten a better group. I really love all of them.

The altum flora is lightening up, he got pretty dark at first (from stress, I assume) but is slowly fading his bars and lightening up to his normal colors (which are actually more of a light blue/turquoise if I am correct.

Just did a water change. The python freaked them out a bit, but now they're swimming around looking happier than ever. Begging for food.. hmm.. yep, they're definitely discus! haha.

One question: Has anyone used aquasafe water conditioner? I just started and I hadn't noticed at first, but that stuff wreaks!! It smells so gross! Is this normal? I bought the bottle slightly used. Does it go bad? It honestly smells rotten. I might go back to my stresscoat because it smells nice! haha.

what you're smelling is the Sodium Hydroxymethane Sulfinate, detoxifies ammonia and gives it a nice sulfur smell. :)

i'd recommend using Seachem Prime/Safe as your conditioner, it stinks as well, but it's good stuff.

Phew! Okay, so it is safe though, yes? Because it made my water a little cloudy and I was worried.. Is it a decent conditioner for now?

I'll get prime as soon as I get to my LFS

it's fine for now, i have heard it can cloud the water, shouldn't be a problem though. if the fish show any signs of stress after using it, big water change.

Fantastic looking Discus! I know you're very pleased with them.

Thanks, Dan! Always refreshing to hear confirmation from someone who knows what they are talking about :)

I doubt I'll ever stop being paranoid with these fish.. I over analyze every little thing because I really want them to be healthy and happy! They are all happy and swimming about the tank- second feeding today was frozen beef heart which they loved. 2 more feedings to go!

Oh, I got a video working.. I can't upload the one of unpacking them because youtube won't except it, but I got a video of the tank. It will be posted soon.

Thank you everyone for all of the kind compliments :)

Wow!! They look awesome! Very beautiful fish. I look forward to watching them grow!!
I love all the colors, they look really awesome!!
How about a FTS!?
