Yea, its late (LOL) meant to say HC as they look happy. I'd be a little woried about the crypts as they can be tempermental. I swear I want to rip my tank apart and do bark backing....
Brentling, that is all kinds of a sweet tank. The HC looks great, the crypts look awesome, and the lobelia was a really good call. What else do you have to go in there, plant wise?
On to filling and such. Wot with no fish, you don't need a filter yet, just some water movement, and not much of that. Whenever you thinnk you've got the emersed growth where you want it, chuck an airstone or 2 in there and fill it up (even half way if you want to plant in stages). Alternately, if you want to get the CO2 running, get a cheapie little powerhead off of craigslist. There's always somebody out there selling a melange of aqaurium equipment they have outgrown. Stick it about halfway up one side and run it at low current down the tank to keep it stirred without agitating the surface.
I have several powerheads laying about that would be useful. thanks for the idea. As for plants, I already have a bunch;
* Kleiner Bar Swordplant
* Ludigia brevipes, ovalis, palustris ("narrow leaf"?)
* Nesaea pedicellata - never seen or heard of this one before
* Crystal Val
* Valisneria 'nana'
* Hygrophila corymbosa 'Siamensis'
There will be Anubias growing on the cork, bolbitis, too. I will add more bunch plants as I find them, and lots of swordplants. The rest will be pending what I can find1![]()
Brent we need updates!
