I got mine for $12, and I think thats pretty much the standard price for bristlenose plecos. also, no algae eating fish will always eat algae. each one is different. IMO if you're going to get fish, get them because you love the fish, not for a cold, unreliable purpose. you are the best algae cleaner your tank could ever have. remember that.

don't worry, i've done a lot of research and decided that a bristlenose is best for me. after the algae horrors of my previous tank (cleaning the back and sides are really hard) it wouldn't be all too bad to have a voracious algae eater like the bristlenose, and although they won't always eat algae, they will probably stick to it longer than most others. i've done the homework and i'll continue to research the diet of the BN pleco. i have the time anyways, my tank was just established. thanks for the heads up though.
