Bristlenoses fighting over zucchini, what do I do?

I have three relatively small BNs who have got along fine in the past. I wanted to wait for them to get accustomed to the tank before I began feeding them cucumber and zucchini, also so the other fish wouldn't be shocked by the intrusion.

I placed two small slices of zucchini near the 'cave' where they hang out and they all took to it very well but one of them (I think it's a male) fends off the other two from getting their fair share. He does so quite aggresively with his dorsal fin raised, he chases them well off before returning to it, I don't want any serious aggression in a previously peaceful tank.

This is probably a stupid question, but what should I do? I ask because it's the only place I can put the zucchini without it floating back up to the surface (just slightly wedged under a piece of pot-plant)

How do I go about this?

It's getting worse now, one of my gold rams seems to enjoy pecking at the slices and now the bristle is being hostile towards it too, not as badly as it is towards the other two bristles, but still enough for me to feel concerned for my ram
:(

Use some veggie clips and put several pieces in at different locations..?

My gold ram is steering clear of the slices now...
Thanks for the prompt reply rbishop! What are veggie clips and where do I get them?

Thats what i did, but the one BN was just to aggressive to the other one all the time, rumor has it that 2 males wont get along very well and when i mentioned this to the lfs they told me it was BS,,,, needless to say i took the aggressive one back for a refund.I use the smaller plastic clips that hold potato chip bags closed, there just heavy enough to sink but barley.most lfs's sell them....:)

I use a metal fork to sink my zucchini. You can also try some sweet potato, which is nice because it sinks on its own.

I have 3 male BNs and a small royal pleco in my "pleco tank". I leave the zucchini in the open area, so none of them fight over it, since they are more interested in eating and then ducking back to their favorite hiding spot.

You could use a plain old chip-bag clip as well; attach a magnet to one edge and attach the chip-clip anywhere on the glass using another magnet on the outside of the tank - much easier to move around.

Thanks for all your help, I think I like the sound of all of the ideas!
I'll try them all out to see what works best.
