So my balcony looks on a pool at my apartment complex. There are a pair of ducks that hang out their every spring and summer, we've named them wilbur and willma. Well, this year they had ducklings!!! :D (last 2 years we didnt see any)

So we were outside getting our nicotine fix when we heard baby duck quacks and saw that mama had brought the babies to the pool but the pool water was too low for the ducklings to jump back out of.

We went down stairs and our neighbors were watching and said they had been there for awhile. I called animal control but they were closed so we took matters into our own hands. My boyfriend got one of our fish buckets and he and 4 of our neighbors jumped the fence and started catching ducklings. At first they just got them out of the pool but they jumped back in to their mom so they had to catch them and put them in the bucket. After 20 min they had all the ducklings and mama flew over the pool fence.

My boyfriend handed me the CUTEST bucket of ducklings over the fence that I gently poured out onto the ground where Wilbur and Willma could safley take their babies away from the evil captive pool.

I wish I had my camera on me!!! Feels good to have saved some ducklings! :D

 Yay!

Shame on you for no pics.... I wanna see some darn duckies! :)

Thanks. I just skimmed again with an incurable blonde moment.;)

You and those blonde moments, lol...

YAY on the ducky save! I love baby ducks, my pair, Flower and Thorn, gave me 12 babies last year. They are so darn adorable.

Mama loves DUCKIES! We need pics! LOL

And good for you for the save!!!! :D

:( Sorry no pics.... I have pics from 2 years ago of Wilbur and Willma before the ducklings... we were so caught up in saving the ducklings I didnt think of a camera.

Stinks because I'll never have a chance to take pics of a bucket of ducklings ever again... :(

I wanted to get them to their mama ASAP. Mama was flying and snapping at the guys who were capturing her babies and I was scared if they were away too long mama wouldnt accept the ducklings back.

BUT- they waddled away safely into a field where there are no heavily trafficked roads. :D
