My garage is a mess I just started to move into the house so give me a break on the clutter! so I tested the light it looks like ive got one halide out and one of the florecents and one of the night LED? night lights for as many lights as this has that's not to bad I think. where is a good place to get them? 2013-04-18_19-28-31_702.jpg2013-04-18_19-28-45_474.jpg2013-04-18_19-28-53_260.jpg

Be aware of 2 things with metal halides: they're not very energy efficient, and they can raise the temp of the tank pretty quickly.

Those are things you'll want to be aware of so you can plan properly.

im planning to hang the light instead of using the mounts so i can raise or lower the light to adjust the heat in the tank.

Euro Brace? anyone done it? i found a couple cracks in the bottem trim aswell so im considering doing a euro brace instead. from what ive read 2" wide stips around the top and bottem on the inside of the tank with the top have two center braces. but im not sure how thick of glass to use.

That's pretty darn good, considering a LOT of glass shops won't cut 1/2" in those dimensions, and lot won't work with 1/2" at all.

Eurobracing a 180G, I'd go to 4" wide braces.

But that's just the 2 center braces, right? How much for the edge strips?

Too bad you don't live near me. I actually have 72" X 3" X 5/16"braces cut and have been standing in a corner for a long abandoned project. They'll most likely get tossed pretty soon.

fsn77 which larger retailers do you suggest i give a call?

Drs. Foster & Smith and Marine Depot have both come through for me in the past with parts they could get that were not listed on their websites.

thinking i might just do the center braces and call it good. Ive got some body shop grade plati repair that will do work on small chips the bottem trim has.

is two 3in wide stips enough to replace the two braces it has? they are plasic 2in wide and about 1/4 in thick.

I called Drs. Foster & Smith and Marine Depot and the lady i got was very rude... and very loudly yelled in me ear WE NEVER DO CUSTOM ORDERS! well okay jez...
