Buying a new tank?

My dads a plumber think of all the shower's tubs and sinks and counters ive set with manual silicone guns that shouldnt be to bad for me. We do not have a Grainger Store around here so ill order it online.

No im looking for a good tutorial on a sump ive found a TON but all of them only explain parts not the entire process. i plan to convert my 30 gallon tank into the sump MIGHT go 55gal tank if i can steal on on craigslist.

Anywhere cheap online to buy Base rock online? i plan to do about 85% base and 15% Live rock and just let the thank run for 6 weeks before adding fish.

Base rock comes out to 2.33$ free shiping a pound lfs wants 2.89 so hes definitely a good deal. good to go with them as-well for sand? i was told to go with a inch bed of sand to thick creates nitrogen problems?

I bought rock before they sold sand, if its dry sand I would just compare prices locally, if its live sand fresh out of their system then its probably pretty good stuff atleast better then the caribsea 'live' sand.

Inch is fine, if you plan to keep any burrowers I'd shoot for around 1.5" or a lil more.

http://www.reefrocks.net/ has great prices on rock and sand $314 for 150 lbs of rock and 160 lbs of sand that’s pretty good deal. Every 25 Lbs of rock you buy you get 40lbs of sand free just pay shipping. If your buying 50lb box's thats 1.9$ a pound. LFS wants 3$ a pound. My calculations are in the 180 gal 71x23x23 inside dimensions of the tank 160 lbs of sand should be about 2 in deep is that enough? I have been told to stay shallow with the sand so it does not turn into a nitrogen factory. I plan to make my order 4-29 since i get a bonus check on that date.

Price sounds good, I think I've read favorable things about them before. 170.1lbs would be 2" so yeah your close enough.
