I'm going to buy a tank, what size do you recommend? I don't want something huge but i don't want a 20gal either. Semi medium sized tank. I got about 3-400 to spend on it. and I'm leaving to go do this in 30 mins! What size would you guys buy? I always wanted a semi big tank always had small for the most part so lets see how this turns out. Anyone know of some good sales going on?

search your local craigslist, you will save lots of money. you can find 30-75gallon setups for $50-$300. at least around me. unless you really want a new tank i would go the craigslist route and spend the money you saved on good equipment.

Size depends on what you want to do with it and what type of fish are going in it....

i bought a very nice 46 gallon bowfront with stand hood and lights from wally world for 180.00 one time

75g is a perfect size-not to big yet not to small :thm:. BTW-I wouldn't spend more than $1 per gallon for a used tank. People love to put high $$$ values for their used tanks...until they don't sell. $400 for a used 10 gallon and stand!!! Oye vey...:headshake2:..

there are so many variables that go into it. Planted tanks raise the price up a lot. For either planted or non, go 3-4 feet long. Maybe a 30 long or 55 would be nice for a medium setup. You want to give your fish a lot of swimming space.

If I were to get a small/medium tank for plants I would get a 40 breeder if i could do it again.

dont buy a tank at a retail store, please. You will throw away your money. CRAIGSLIST or one of the forums classified sections. Be patient and you will steal a tank.
