Camallanus Worms - now you see them, now you don't.

Sorry to say that Bo probably won't recover this time. He's alert and excited to see me (me=food), but still won't eat, and now has trouble remaining upright. He wagged his fins so much that he fell completely over on his side and couldn't get back up without help. He doesn't look good and his dorsal is a little raggedy. I know I should euthanize him but can't bear it tonight. If there's no improvement by tomorrow, he may be getting a relaxing clove oil bath.

You know, this would be a lot easier if he was zoned out and unresponsive, but every time I walk up to the tank he scoots up to the glass and acts all excited. It's like he doesn't know he's hurt. He tries to swim but can't, so I can't see his bottom but it's probably pretty raw. Poor little guy, he's been such a great pet.

he is such a fighter, even in this state he is trying.

its sad to watch but im so glad you have not given up on him...who knows he could still pull threw, my fingers are crossed for you and him!

That's it, he's been such a fighter, so maybe it's possible he can once again rise from the ashes. I'm staying away from the tank for now because he gets excited and ends up on his side. Not sure what that's about, perhaps he sustained damage to his swim bladder or other internal organs.

Thank you David. Bo has found good niche among the rocks to stay upright, and it probably feels better than dragging his intestine over the sand. It could be my imagination, but it seems like his color is a little better today and he's still very alert. As long as he's not in pain I will continue to treat, although that can be difficult to judge. He doesn't seem to be, oddly enough. I did a water change and added another dose of Kanaplex.

that looks like a very perky fish for all he has been threw..and indeed his color does look better!

still clear in my tank, ..been keeping an eye on my tank, the male yoma danio seems to have a bit of a back end problem..seems a bit swollen but it might be an infection from the worms, been doing large water changes and will treat further if need be. ..after all of this i still and skeptical of being clear of the worms.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you, K!

and im doing the same for you!!! I think of your little trooper every time Im inspecting my tank for infection.

Bo soldiers on... scoots around some, but not falling over like he was before. His color is relatively good, and even his dorsal looks better. I can't get a good look at his bottom, but it does seem to bulge a bit still. He finds it hard to go after food, but does show an interest. All in all, I'd call his condition improved.
