Yup, read that post and went to the Utilities Co. website...Chloramines are uses ( with a reverse osmosis system they say ) ..anyway....after much research, and back tracking...I think I know what happened, much in part to the input I received here....
About 2-3 days ago, I added some stress zyme, never had any problems with it previously. It can sometimes harbor the "bad" bacteria that can cause anaerobic bacterias, which thrive in oxegen deprived enviroments ( if I have understood this correctly )..anyway....the active ingredient in BioSafe redices the REDOX in the tank for about 12 hours...not a good thing IMO..so will never use this product again.
In short, whatever remained of the Stress Coat, went nuts when I added the BioSafe, perhaps creating an anaerobic enviroment to a toxic degree. This would explain how some lived, and some died....guess only the strongest survived the meyhem...not sure if I'm right or not, but the research has proved useful. I will only use Ammo Lock, and Ammo Lock II from here on out..Sress Zyme won't be allowed in my house, as well as BioSafe! Still going after the RFUG though, seems like a good thing to me either way!
