can i put mollies in a saltwater tank safely with reef safe fish, dusters, polyps. anything bad will happen?

molly's can be acclimatised to live in a saltwater tank, however, the question has to be, why would you want them in there? Personaly, i dont agree with moving a FW fish over to salt, but, thats just me...

Niko

***To add, mollys are a very peacefull fish and any semi-agressive marine fish in there would harrass the heck out of them...

thanks for the reponses. anyone that has actual experience with them in saltwater community?

I wanted to do something similar a w/ guppys, I was going to make them full salt I guess I still havent had enought intrest to actually go ahead and do it.

Yes, I have experienced keeping them there for two years before I quitted SW. I intended to feed my black mollies to lionfish but somehow they managed to evade the lionfish and had thrived there until the day I quitted saltwater.:lipssealedsmilie:

I've read some say they are great algae eaters but they haven't been something I've wanted to try to switch over.
Mollies do eat a lot of algae including hair algae which is why most of us freshwater enthusiasts tend to give them green matter.:grinyes:
