Can i mix diff corys?

I have 2 corys that are the same kind and im going to get 2 more of the same kind and i saw a really nice cory for like $12, so can i keep 4 of one kind of corys and 1 rare cory? This is the kind of cory i got right now.

short answer yes....they do best with their own species but will school with others. I have one lone brochis that schools with my 5 sterbai.
 
Ok, thanks for the info everyone!! What kind of corys do i have? I forgot the name of them lol.

Yup. She said it was some kind of rare cory. I forgot the name of the rare cory lol. Its orange and she said its got one strip that changes from light to dark orange or something like that. It looks very cool. Ill call them up and ask tomorrow. Oh yeah, there also was some kind of very weird cory that swims up slide down ALL the time.
 
The kind of cories you have look like spotted cories to me, but don't quote me.. I'm knew to tihs stuff

Cories are really happier with groups of their own.

A cory that swims upside down? Perhaps this is the synodontis which is commonly sold at petsmart under the name "upside down catfish?" Could you perhaps get us a picture the next time you visit that store?
