Can my tank support plants?

okay thank you. My tank doesn't really have much to grip on to, and the substrate is gravel, is that alright for the plants? Or do I need to get a sand/soil sort of thing? I have lots of big rocks, for now the only thing I can imagine plants gripping onto is well.. the fake plants and perhaps some air tubing. Will they be able to wrap around larger rocks?

Gravel is fine for the plants. For the plants that need something to grip onto you should tie them down at first, they may be able to grip onto the rocks if they're rough.

Gravel is fine, but Anubias and Java Fern will rot if rooted. So, get a piece of driftwood or rocks if you don't have stuff like that. There are substrate specifically made for plants but you should be fine wih plants like yours. They'll be able to wrap around larger rocks.

Other low lights plants I can think of is green hygro.

In my experience Java Fern won't rot from being planted, they'll definitely grow better if they're not though.

This is an old pic but just to give an idea of the rocks I'm working with. There are more now.

These are also old stock lights that have since been replaced (only 30w total, way too dim for my taste, too blue)

I'd probably get some smaller rocks if you are able to, but those rocks should be fine. In my 38G (link in my sig, for pictures), I squeezed the Anubias in between the rocks so they can be held down, but not buried along with Java Ferns.

Thanks! Yeah, it's the easiest, laziest and painless way to hold plants together, although just gotta make sure that they are tight to they don't float away.

Nice Tank Dj. T I really like your hardscape! A Sword plant would look really nice in there. Maybe some onion plants, and water lettuce will really spice it up! Where did you get your rocks BTW?
