Can someone please ID this coral?

What is sick about it? The polyps look contracted, but not particularly diseased. It may take a little while for it to settle in.

Clean conditions, good light and gentle circulation usually bring corals around.

White slime, or thick mucus? the brown polyps I had were some of the slimiest buggers. Very normal, and if they were irritated--ie, moved, touched, looked at sideways wrong, they could produce gobs of the stuff. Nothing unhealthy about them, just a good defense mechanism, since few fish will put up with a mouth full of goop to get a nibble. They can pout if unhappy with conditions, but did fine under VHO's in my tank. Under MH, they would open further, and looked better. When mad, they'd stay closed for 2-3 days sometimes.

Just an observation, they might not like the power head directly behind them... maybe thats why they haven't opened?

I told him this :P

This used to be 2 threads, with different titles. I merged them into one thread, and put in that note. Wasn't implying that each member could only post once per thread, just that multiple threads on the exact same topic is discouraged.
