Canister Poll

as far as canister filters go. Which do you prefer. Marinelands Magnum 350's or Fluval's 04 series or FilStar's XP series

Same here, I prefer Eheim. I really like the simplicity of the Classic, but the ECCO is fine for slower flow needs and the Pro series is good if you like all the gadgets.

Since I got a Fluval 303 for $10.00, I'd have to say Fluval, but if I had my choice, it would be a Filstar.

If money were not an object, Eheim. Since it is for me, Filstar... so none of the above.

I wanted an Eheim. I liked the quality and the model with the built in heater. I liked the idea if one less bulky item in the tank. Since the one I wanted was almost $400 with media and the fluval 404 was on sale for $97 I bought the Fluval.

I'm in the same boat as Harlock on this one. I needed good canisters at a decent price, so I went with the XP3s. I don't regret that decision at all.

XP's are a lot better. All I hear about fluvals is that the small plastic pieces break and the filter lasts about 7 years. Eheims last 15-20 years according to some people. Petsmart's website has eheim 2213's for $65.00.
