Cannister filter problems with co2?

Thanks! Do you think a c-160 can suck up the mixture?

There have been stories of a canister filter getting clogged, and thus creating enough vacuum on the DIY CO2 line to suck in the mixture and thereafter destroying the tank.

If I was using DIY, I would just use a wood airstone and place it under the intake of the filter.

@Lucifersam, Co2 dissolves so readily into the water, that gas never hits the impeller, and also it would need to get through the media as well.

What about an elbow going right next to the intake? Would that be better than sticking it right into the intake?

i have an eheim 2217 and i stuck the co2 tube in the bottom prefilter part of the intake pipe and i did this with my DIY co2 as well as my pressurized and never had any issues with the filter puling out my diy co2 mix. Just as long as there is adequate flow for water into the pipe your fine.
