Can't find info on Crazy Crocodile

Is that bear with the glasses and cam on its head in the tank?!!?

Just be aware that you'll probably be doing a tank upgrade in the not too far off future ... it says on that page that the MINIMUM requirement for that fish is a 30g. That probably means it will need something more around 40-50g when fully grown.
Sound like an interresting fish though.

Actually, it is a Tiger. On top of the tiger is my webcam. MY fish are sometimes live broadcasted on Nullsoft Shoutcast Stremeing TV. In the future i may be purchaseing "LiveFish.ca" and place them on there.

BTW, it si very interesting to watch him hunt. He lies under a the rock setup i have, waits for his food to come to him then attacks. It is a mazeing to watch. I will try adn capture some video.

I dont know anything about this fish, but I just came across the following info that suggests its possibly best suited to brackish water. Something you may want to consider.

Common name: Crazy fish
Scientific name: Butis butis
Origin: Found across the Indo-Pacific from Fiji to the coast of East Africa.
Habitat: Usually found in weedy rivers, swamps and mangroves. Found in marine, brackish and freshwater environments.
Water: These were being kept in a centralised system containing freshwater with salt added to a rate of around 3g/l. They should adapt to freshwater if done slowly.
Diet: A micropredator which eats shrimps, prawns and fish. The one shown here accepts flakes.
Size: Up to about 15cm/6”.
Aquarium: Needs a tank of about 90cm/36” or more, containing some shelter from plants or bogwood. Do not keep Butis with fish small enough to eat.

okay new problem

This Burtis eats live minnows. so i bought 10, 5 are dead!!! not sure y i ahve them ina seperate tank, a small 1 gallon. They are dieing off fast. i jsut got them yesterday. Any ideas?

They are in a uncycled tank for one thing and it is small so the ammonia levels will climb fast. Also they are already stressed from the move.

If you are going to feed this guy live fish I would suggest egtting a bigger tank for the crazy fish to live in witht e tiger barbs, some nice plants (fake or alive) or some bogwood of some kind. Then use the 10 gallon tank to raise your own feeder guppies. You will spend a lot less on feeders plus you will know that they are free of illness and parasites. Right now you could easily introduce something that will kill your fish. Fish stores can't always tell when their fish have diseases.

iitsi strange becuase the store siad 10 small minnows would be fine in a 1 gallon tank. beucase they were just feeder fish

so, to make my life easier, anyone suggest somethign else i could feed this guy??

Slices of shrimp (go to the grocery store)
Defrosted silversides

A clear acrylic feeding prong makes it easier to change your predators over to dead foods.

what is a silverside? is it a kinda of feeder fish???

and with the shrimp, so i slice, and use the clear tongs to make it look live?

where do i get the acrylic feeding prong's in Canada. i REALLY like this idea, but i cant find anyone that has them. Maybe the doller store?
