Celestial Pearl Danio experiment - success!

Nice pearl danios, ponderinky, I must say that I want to try it now :D

I wonder how much you can make from breeding those Pearls? I could always use the extra money. And an excuse to set up another couple tanks. :)
 
Thanks - they are really pretty little fish - just super fast and hard to see. I tried breeding them in a heavily planted 10 and got a few fry but had the best success in the 40. I net out the fry and bring them inside to grow out (can feed them better). I will need to empty out the 30 I have them in to grow out this year's fry! Probably will offer them in the next few weeks - not sure yet.
 
Year two update - I put 2 groups of about 12 each into 2 40 gallon tubs with a pond pump filter box and some hornwort or naja grass less than a month ago. I turned off the pumps this evening to see if I had any fry - :omg: it looked like a guppy tank!! I have a bunch of fry in just the one 40 that I looked in (the other is too dark and planted to see). I need to move the adults I have left out to make room for the new ones being born. I have a few left at 6 for $20 (see FS thread) + shipping. They are beautiful and very healthy. Going out to feed my "new" babies!! :dance:
