Check out what I did in 4 hours last night...

lol That was the first thing my dad said when he saw it. Im going to replace them with cinder blocks. I just put them there to get an idea of the height. The bottom of the trash can is 40 inches off the ground give or take an inch. the cinder blocks are 8 inches wide so Im going to have 15 (3 stacks of 5) total to make a semi decent stand for it.

Cross stack the blocks. Don't just have three stacks of five. Even with cement blocks, three stacks will be wobbly. Cross stacked they will be a nice solid base.

that is one beast of a filter! nice job :)

and i know what you mean about the big fish liking the flow back into the tank. my oscar is constantly in the 'pour zone' when i'm doing water changes, lol.

Also im curious, what do you consider low stock?

Definitely not your tank....seems you have done like many folks and over stocked and then made plans to compensate for it later and want kudos for doing so...hope it happens quickly.

:screwy: :screwy: :screwy: :screwy:

. Mayhap some people have low brow opinions

Not low brow at all...please feel free to direct your comments directly to me...no need to side step....;)

Mr. Positive strikes again. (sarcastic)

Don't listen to ...um... any nay-sayers, just in general, not referring to one specific person, yup, everyone, *cough*.

It looks awesome :D

Ditto the above comment...;)

ermmm this might seem a pointless question but how are you going to view your fish ?....

you spend all this money and yet you limit it to 2 filter socks. With enough fish for a 2000gal tank(or more) you need a much larger filter.

how soon are you planning to rehome some of the fish, seems very overstocked, even for that filtration................

Within the next 1 to 2 months the big tank should be completed. It is about 4,000 gallons. Come on guys, Im not some beginner that went out and bought all of these fish. The only two I payed for was the ripsaw cat and the albino oscar. The rest were rescued from people that had the fish in no bigger than 60 gallon tanks. They are going in the 700 in the next week once I get my titanium heaters in just to give them more room until the tank is ready. The 10,000 gph pump is running at about 5,000 gallons per hour, which is close to 17 turnovers within the hour. There is also an eheim professional 3 on the tank.
