Cichlid with bulging eye :(

Thanks well cool deal i hope all works out for you and big yellow..

Hi, again!
As you describe it now, I agree with the aggression hypothesis. Also, I think as well that you should use Melafix first; probably that would be enough. The hospital tank is well prepared. Thanks for choosing me as a friend. Good luck with Big Yellow and keep us posted.

You are getting great advice here. Moving to a new tank, with filter media from the old tank, some rock in a nylon, maybe some decorations (driftwood, rocks, caves) anything like that can and will help with the "cycle" process.

Do many water changes (as already mentioned) clean water is the BEST meds for a fish.

The one thing I have to ask though that no one else has (I do NOT think this is the reason for what has happend), you mentioned you are adding salt to the tank? I was wondering why, was it because of what had happened or is this something you do normally?

This makes no difference at all as to treatmeant, just trying to help you with what fish you have. "Big Yellow" is not a yellow lab IMO. I believe he is a mix of a yellow lab (which is VERY common) he looks more like a kenyi/lab mix to me..as I said has nothing to do with treatment, just trying to help you with what exactly you have;)

Something I do normally. :) I

didn't purchase "Big Yellow" I adopted him with the tank so he could be anything... he yellow so assumed he was one of the common fishes you can get at petco and the likes. heehee. I have a hard time picking out species of fish by the looks. I have to do a lot of research o trust the LFS for that.

He's healing up and is eating! I can see more of his iris by the hour! THANK YOU GUYS!
