i don't know. . . after a long time of hearing (and passing) the rumor about plecos getting their eyes plucked out by african cichlids, i recently "met" an eyeless pleco. he was over 8 inches long at the time, good-sized, but that didn't stop them.
whats a couple fish that will survive nearly anything and multiply rapidly? i need to breed something for my barramundi to eat![]()

convicts will produce like rabbits aye, ok wow i have 2 ponds here where i live one is a vacation cichlid pond 500gals the other is my shubunkyn pond for goldfish around 1000gals, but we have very cold winters like the low is 5 degree so i have to pull my cichlids out in the fall before temps start to hit low 70's i have tried it a few times but unless you only get like high 60's to low 70's man you are going to have problems keeping that pond heated during winter as for the sailfin plecos i have a 120gal tang tank and i had to get rid of my pleco he was punking cichlids out even synodontis, def keep us updated here is a photo of my vacation pond were i bring my cichlids out for insect life and to stretch their fins and some breeding as well..
