im just wondering can we keep clam from the supermarket as a pet in the tank?

I'm not sure where you live, but where I live, the clams that they sell at the super markets are definitly alive. If you come across dead mullosks in the seafood counter at your super market I suggest you don't shop there anymore. And another thing, have you actually seen the people behind the counter kill them? I'm pretty sure they don't. There's no reason for them to kill them seeing as you're just going to take them home and kill them when you put them in boiling water anyways (or steam them, whichever you prefer) and you want them to be alive when you do this. As sick as that sounds.

Just my 2 cents...
 
yes, seafood places try to keep clams and other mollusks alive, and it's best to cook them live (as cruel as that is) because they STINK when they die. You wouldn't want to eat that.
