clown killies

Hey mademan2, can I just let them breed in the water and raise young without any special techniques?

you can, but peat moss technique is the best, lots of hatches you will have hundreds in less than 3 months, the only thing is make sure you have a cycled water with lots of infusoria, put them there first one day after the hatch, then 10 days later starts introducing little amount of newly hatch BBS. i harvest eggs every 3 days or 4 days.

if you let them hatch in the water, more will die because of fungus.
peat moss prevents fungus spreading on good eggs.

oh and one more thing make sure when some of them starts getting bigger seperate then don't mix them with little ones that can fit in thier mouth

Do you have a link to this "peat moss" that I can use as a reference? I had gone to Home Depot a while ago, and they did not have just peat moss. It was a mixture of peat moss and some other stuff that I didn't think was good for a fish tank.

I just got my first pair of of E. annulatus about 3 weeks ago, but lost the female week 1, does you guys know where I could get one around Cali ? Or will anyone ship live fish ? Interestingly the males mouth is upturned, which I haven't seen before. Apparently the strain is 72 from Liberia..

Thanks.
