Here are photos of the Mystery snail clutch laid May29/30. I purchased one of those 6 way breeder boxes that fits in the tank if and when the blessed event takes place. LOL! If anyone thinks this clutch looks as it should be let me know. Thanks. IMG_0340.JPG

I always just leave my clutches where they are laid it seems to work and I have been having a great hatch rate. As far as the way they look it has been my experience that the eggs deeper inside the clutch usually are the ones to hatch. Flip the clutch over and see if you can see any dark spots forming.

I would expect that if its viable, you should start to see the "moldy" appearance begin in the next day or so. If after about 2 weeks or so you haven't noticed any change, i would break it open gently. This could be a dud, or it could be just fine, its hard to tell until they hatch.

I wasn't sure how long to wait. So now I know it should be soon if I have anything. Thanks!

they can take anywhere from 10 days to about 3 weeks to hatch, it depends on humidity and temp. Typically mine are ready to hatch around 10-12 days in the incubator.

Hollygirl - any babies yet?
Nope - No babies. I broke the clutch in half a couple of days ago and did have 2 baby snails fall into the breeder. They had not moved in 24 hours so they were indeed dead. :( I am still incubating the other half of the clutch, but I'm doubtful that it will hatch. My guess (after researching in other snail websites as well as AC), that I kept the clutch too dry. This coming Friday, June 20 will be 3 weeks, so if nothing happens by then I'll again try breaking the remains of the clutch. But I am still going to have a "Mystery Snail Only" tank, whether the occupants are my own home grown snails or those ordered from msjinkzd. And there will be a lot of pics! :) How are your babies doing Jenratico?

I would just leave the clutch where it is next time. They seem to better for me if i leave you should try that next time.LOL i have 8 clutches going right now
LOL! Mother Nature knows best! I learned a lot from this experience so it's not a total loss.
