i think a coffee table aquarium would be neat if you lived on your own and placed it in a quiet area of your house, say to the side of the living room, etc. in a low traffic area and not use as a coffee table persay, but maybe to display photos in clear glass frames, or silk flowers in glass vases, things that are not likely to be moved around on the table. that would look neat and not be so stressfull for the fish.

I agree, it would be difficult to siphon, but with a little brainwork it could be accomplished.

I could never buy a coffee aquarium. They may look nice but to me not my cup of tea. I like looking up at my tank not down at it. I need it at eye level.

Im sure I could do a pretty good all plant and maybe shrimp layout in it if I could pump enough light into it.......

Im not against it, just another container to hold water. Doesnt mean fish have to be the only thing in it.

Just my thought. How do you view something like that and how do you relax in front of it unless you are laying on the floor.?

Oh well..I tend to lay on the floor on my stomach. I should try a mattress with a pillow as if watching a TV. Good idea.

Besides how horrible it would be to the fish with all of those vibrations & noises, and the viewing difficulties, how is oxygen supposed to get in? There is absolutely no gas exchange. Want dead fish fast? Put them in a coffee table.
