I told my girlfriend that i would throw our packs out on my drive home that day we quit but i hid them in my backpack for the next six months. for six months i knew that they were there. a pack or 27s and a pack of parliment lights. on our six month aniversary i hand my GF a 'gift' for not smoking for six months, i also had a 'gift' for myself to unwrap. it was our pack of smokes i told her that i threw out. we then went to the local wendys, threw them out, smiled, and then got some spicy chicken sandwiches and have been living smoke free for quite a while.
