Coler's stopping smoking thread

Just found this thread,so I gotta give my story too.It will be 2 years for me next month.
I used Chantix to help me quite.I had to go to my doctor to get a RX for it.My health insurance paid for most of it,but if it hadn't,I would have paid for it myself.Having the extra help made all the difference for me.
Do whatever it takes to not light up!
You can do it!
GOOD LUCK!!!!!

BTW, My wife quite with me,and we saved all the money we spent on cigarettes for the first year. With that money we bought all new bedroom furniture. We saved from this 2nd year too(not quite a much though),and with that money,I bought a new 180 gallon tank. It's amazing the amount of money you waste on smokes.

I just realized I don't know how to spell quit. :y220d:

As I mentioned earlier in this thread, I quit back in April and I'm still smoke-free and haven't had a cigarette since!

Good job! It was 2 years for me in November.(i still miss it,but will never start again, too expensive)

I can proudly say that I quit on Nov. 2. Just about two months and i've never felt better. I've been putting the money I would've spent on smokes in an envelope and I was able to buy a Eheim 2213 AND Eheim 2215 with some cash left over!!!

if all else fails...........cut your fingers off.

That's what I'm talking about! It's amazing how much extra money we have after quitting isn't it? I just wish I could get back all the money I spent on cigarettes in my lifetime. :wall:

Humans have a very hard time trading off short term discomfort for long term gain. You can do it!

Acupuncture is very helpful for a lot of people to help with the cravings.

:iagree: with both of your points. There is this point somewhere on your hand (fourth finger if I am not mistaken) and if you stab that area with a needle it helps with quitting smoking.

I am getting a bit :topic:here But if you are not such a huge fan of holes in your fingers or needles, there is this pen with a backside that has the same effect as acupuncture but only hurts a bit. It doesn't puncture your skin or anything. It is Korean if I remember. LoL my friend brought one to school one day and we "acupunctured" each other during history class. It actually felt quite good afterwards. And it had this map of the human hand and acupuncturist locations.

Oh yeah, and GOOD LUCK you can do it!!;)

i quit a lot of things cold turkey. none that should probably be mentioned here. i am quite proud of my accomplishments too. i have tried several times with cigarettes though to no avail. it's almost like they're my crutch. anyway... anyone who actually quits deserves commending. i just wish i had the will... or maybe it's just not enough desire to finish the job. maybe one day. point is... good luck coler.
