I was at Big Al's yesterday and on a whim picked up some ghost shrimp for my desk tank. Current inhabitants are 2 angel fish, cherry shrimp, a couple endlers and 2 upsidedown catfish.
I wasn't sure how long it would take for them to become snacks, but for the cost of ghost shrimp I figured I would give it a shot. Looking at them today I realized they are not clear like the ghost shrimp I had in the past but in fact have a brown tint to them, with black/tan bands on their backs and what seem to be red bands on their antennae. DOn't get me wrong, they are still translucent, but have these markings. I know a pic would help but don't have my camera with me today. Thoughts?

No one knows if Ghost shrimp sometime have markings or if it's possibly a different shrimp?

i think the bands on the antennae mean they're ghosts. Not sure but others will undoubtedly know better

"Ghost" shrimp are actually one of many different species. They all look basically the same, but I've seen different markings and colors several times.
