Most fish store people don't know anything. I do say most because some like Blinky and others here work at fish stores and give their people the truth, and nothing but the truth. Well you have two problems here. One is our fish. They will all need schools, and some will need a bigger tank. The other is a cycle. Research the cycle. Search these forums for "cycling" and "fishy cycling" The cycle is a very important thing in fish keeping

1 serpae(sp?) tetra
Needs a school of 6

1 sword marigold
Never heard of

1 African dwarf frog
Perfect for a 10g

1 tigar barb
Very nippy and needs schools of 6. They may start to nip and eat you other fishes tails and fins

1 painted platy
Probably best keeped in schools of 4+, and it being pained means its been injected with dye.

1 pleco
Do you know what kind of Pleco it is?

I still think that ammonia is the problem. and now I do even more... adding 7 fish to a 10g that was just established a week ago well actually 8 because one died would cause one heck of an ammonia spike. I dont think it is possible to over condition your water but I culd be wrong I never use any of that stuff. Tomorow if you have time I would take a sample of your water to your lfs (local fish store) and have them test it. It will tell you what your ammonia level is. To get it down I would do a 50% water change daily. Dont let them talk you into buying any products to ower it this is just a waste of money and you can usually do it with water changes. If you loose these fish to the ammonia than next time add them very slowly. This is all assuming that ammonia is your problem. hope you get it fixed but you made a right decision in deciding to join this forum you will get a lot of great help from a lot of really smart people

no i dont know what kind it is sorry(pelco) is it possible i just go buy more fish and put them in there or is my tank to small what is a good amount of fish to have in a 10 gal tank thank you again and i will try not to bother you anymore since i see your thing says super sick im sorry hope u feel better

Why are you thinking about buying more fish??? You need to go read about cycling your tank first.

No I'm fine now. That was like 2 days ago. I forgot to take it off Thanks for reminding me :D

I would strongly advise you to get a test kit ASAP! This one is great: http://www.bigalsonline.com/catalog/product.xml?product_id=19383;category_id=3111;pcid1=3233;pcid2= With out one there's no way of knowing whats going on. But for now do 2, 50% water changes. This will keep down any ammonia building up. There are plenty of fish that will work in your tank, but for now lets take it one problem at a time. Also in the morning try to return all of oyur fish. Tell the people at Pleco that after some research you found out that the people working their were wrong, and you want your money back! Then dont my any fish. The empty tank will give you a chance to do a fishless cycle. Read about that here: http://www.aquariacentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=26051

There's a lot more to be said, but I have gota wake up early tomorrow morning, so Ill say good night and let others take over!

thank you kyle when doing the 50% water change should i put anything in the water to get the chlorine out of it or just put tap water im confused now they sold me this stuff called stress relief water conditioner today and you said dont let them talk me into buying anything lol so yes put that in or no dont?
