How do I control small snails in my tank... Will clown loaches do the job ?
I have a few upside down catfishes in the tank, do I still need to put the clown loaches in ?
I agree with Mg. No fish just to remove snails especially since clown loaches need larger tanks and other botias will still need to meet other requirements.
Cut back on feedings and remove manually. Try placing letture in the tank overnight. In the morning, just remove it. It should be covered in snails...
NO,NO, NO , get a clown loch, they will control the snalls, if you have a snall problem teh clown lochs will eat the snall, but not all, thats what i used in my 55gal. and it worked fine
If there apples and pretty yellow send them to me!! I am looking gor some oh and my rams... laid 32 gel sacks of eggs. guess whyere those sacks are going?? yep in the trash. no way to I want hundereds of rams horns.
As mentioned, you can make a snail "trap". Add the lettuce or some other vegetable to a small bottle and place it on it's side on the bottom of the tank overnight. In the morning, a large amount of snails will be in the bottle. Remove it, get rid of the snails, and continue to do this.

DO NOT put another fish in your tank to control snails....its was easier and MUCH cheaper to set traps or to just feed less. I had a pretty large population on MTS's I cut back on food and they arent so bad now.
