Converting to a planted tank

Some of the new list:

Limnophilia hippuroides
Java Moss or Flame moss
Crypts (don't know which ones yet)
Corkscrew vals
vallisneria spiralis
Water Sprites

So far that's what I have for now can anyone give me ideas on what else to put in there? I want some reds in there and maybe something that will grow out and cover the bottom like a carpet.

I'm kind of straying from the strictly asian plants since for me it has proven difficult to find exactly what I want. So any suggestions are welcome.

the lotus plant (dwarf lily) isn't a bad idea for a first timer. bulbs can be found in any walmart or lfs and they can have different colors/patterns depending on what springs up. same with apons except they're less likely to be colorful. i would certainly let the bulbs sprout in something without fish in it though. when they go bad, boy do they...

if they don't sprout send them back... save your receipt...

other than that... i'd pick up a plant pack or two, keep my eyes out for something i like, grow the plants i have... and when i get tired of them or want to move on trade them for something you want in the marketplace.

between here and other forums you shouldn't have problems finding a trade for whatever you have.

anubias is always a good option.

i'm not reading back right now but if your 2.3wpg is obtained through t5ho you are already at "high light". you should have no problems with any plants you can meet all the other parameters for.

Awesome I was getting worried because I kept reading that high light would be considered 2.5wpg and up

:dance2:

My bad i just finished taking a pic of the tank. I still haven't placed the wood the way it's going to be. So it's in there so that it won't dry out on me. But it looks great IMO anyway.

Having an issue with the pic uploading it looks like it has an image over it.

Alright, I'm looking forward to new pics. And if you want any Ludwigia repens I can give some to you for free. Mine are about to become too tall for my tank.

NEW ENDLER FRIES YAY!

So I went to take some pics of the tank again and I discovered that one of my Endlers gave birth to 5 fry. But when I went to the kitchen to get the cup I use to remove them, 2 went missing so I hope they are hiding behind the filter or something. I tried to take pics but they didn't come out. And I still have one pregnant female left. :)
