Sorry to tell you, the hybrids you're creating are genetic mistakes just like blood parrot cichlids (though they are not blood parrot cichlids). That is why it is so important that you not disperse them.

I dont think I created anything, the Firemouth and Convict created them. It sounds like im some mad scientist when you say I created them. There was no lab or beakers involved, I swear.

As of now, there's no anatomical deformities that I can see. I know everyone likes to compare all hybrids to the blood parrot cichlid with their genetically deformed mouth, and call them all genetic mistakes, but these fry look fine and healthy thus far, and you don't have to be 'sorry' to tell me anything.

The Firemouth and Convict are/were gorgeous! I think the babies are incredibly cute and not to be contradictory, I completely agree with Dekk. He did not create these fish, the parents did that. I think if you were to give them to experienced fish handlers who knew not to release the hybrids you would not be doing anything wrong.

It is unnatural in the first place to keep fish in glass tanks. Or to put species together who would not normally be together. The hybrid "problem" being discussed in the undercurrent of this thread is completely man-made. If you think about it, every single person who owns cichlids is to blame because "we" created it in ignorance and "we" perpetuate it by buying both hybrids and pure bred cichlids. I think Dekk is being extremely responsible and obviously knows what he is doing. Just my .02$
