Just found one of my three little speckled cory cats floating. I bought them a couple weeks ago and they were one inch long. I hope it wasn't from starvation. I've been putting the sinking "cory wafers" into the tank daily, but the other fish are such pigs they attack the wafer and I'm afraid the cories may not be getting what they should. Other fish attacking the wafers are: (3) platies (biggest pigs of all!), but even the cardinal tetras and zebras are going after these. Not sure what to do.
Thanks,
Andy

I've tried it, but the others finish the flakes and then attack the wafer. How many wafers should I be putting in? I was putting in just one for the three little cories. I'd like to add more cories (down to two now) but I'm a little apprehensive.

Id up the cories to 6
get some more rasboras too :)

Once you get 6 cories you can start putting in like 3-4 wafers depending on how fast your other fish would eat them

Hello andyjh,

I feed the Cories about 1 hour before lights on & 1 hour after lights off.

I also break up the wafers and spread them about the tank.

:iagree:

I had some shrimp in the tank that would dash out and run off with the cory pellets before the poor catfish could get to them. Breaking the pellets up gave them a better chance.

First I agree get more cories at least 6 even 8. Break the wafer and buy some sinking carnivore or catfish pellets small size. The tank is pretty big feed the flake spread the pellets like seed for the cories 10 or so that way even if someone else comes buy afterward there is an extra or 2. Feed after lights out the cories like this also.
