I have a planted 10gallon tank with 2 bronze(2" each), 1 spotted(3") cory and a pair of guppies(small).

Generally speaking, would it be too crowded to add one more cory maybe two into my tank? I'm concern about the avaliable ground space for them to roam around. Too crowded? Or the more the merrier?

thanks.

Hopefully someone with more experience will better be able to answer your question, but I have 4 peppered cories and 1 spotted cory in a 10-gal. They seem to be fine (with the exception of one of them suddenly being bloated last night). I have been told by others here that cories like to be in groups, and mine don't seem to have any territory/crowding issues.

I've had as many as 6 or 8 adults in a 12g with no problems. They like having buddies and the 10g shouldn't really pose too many probs as long as it's kept nice and clean.

well..... i think is ok to add one more....cuz i have 4 in my 10g.....they are doing great!....

i wanna ask n_crypted, wut's ur spotted cory sci. name?

cuz i have one too but it have no spots on it....but is call Spotted Cory in Pet'smart......
Thnaks

The most commonly sold "spotted cory" at most of the PM's I've seen have been trilineatus, occasionally juliis or even reticulatus. Try using them as a starting point at planet catfish

I have five in one of my 10 gals - 4 aeneus (2 bronze, 1 albino, and 1 'other' varient) and 1 delphax. All are healthy and happy, they share the tank swimming playing and resting together :)

I actually have to keep myself from buying more each time I go to the store because they're so gosh darn cute! :P

sry for a late reply....have bee away for a long time....

Dapple2, well my cory doesn't look like any of them that u mention, but i find one that could be..... is Corydoras melanistius but mine looks like it but without spots..... could mine be so how related to Corydoras melanistius?

It depends on what else is in the tank. Just cories--4 of a smaller species such as the pandas would be fine. If there will be other fish, it will depend on the fish. I would be comfortable having 4 small cories and a betta in a 6, but not much else. And, this would require a strict maintenance routine--I'd probably go with weekly water changes of 20% and plant the tank as well.

The dwarf or pygmy cories would do very well in that size tank, and you could have 5-6 of them, and some amano or cherry shrimp. Would be a nice little setup!
