Corys with Cichlids?

malawi's should be kept in mbuna set-ups only id never say never keep any other species with them. some people have had success keeping fish like tiger barbs or as u said danios with them but its not really worth the risk of the fish to try it

In pets at home there are some really small cichlids. Some have a white body only about 2cm long woth big eyes and there are also 4cm fish, yellow with black and white stripes and about 2cm deep. Any ideas what these are?

In typical hobbyist fashion, I will answer with, "it depends". which LMW cichlids? In what kind of set up? In most cases, the cory's would stand much more of a chance than the danio's IMO.

I've kept cory cats with new world cichlids for almost two years now. Can't promise they'll survive with large, aggressive cichlids, but rainbows, severum, firemouths, yes. Just be sure to put them in the tank at the same time of before the cichlids.

Malawi cichlids are Africans, therefore are old world. There is a big difference in terms of temperament and personality. It's not worth the risk IMO. I've seen yellow labs (one of the more peaceful malawi) go on rampages with tankmates. It's not pretty.

One of those sounds like a Pink Convict and another one sounds like Melanochromis auratus. If those are the fishes in question, I would have to say "no go" when keeping them with cories.
