CP terraium - Plants only

Capensis is a tropical species. As far as I know, there's no need for dormancy.

Thanks jbrad and jpappy for the info I actually got it for $1.50 because it was half dead. I will have some update pics this weekend too.

Do you guys sleep?
Im really on the fence about moving the binatas outside in my bog. I don't know if they can survive the cold of Jersey winters. I have to do more research. The red dragon, Im gonna be putting out in my bog soon. My other VFTs, I realized they aren't typical they are acutally 'Low Giants', pretty cool. They never grow any traps up, they are normally just about 1-3inchs that lay on the ground, or even hanging over the side of pot.
Which reminds me, I need to transplant them and see how many plants i actually have in there.
More pics the binata soon to come. 3 more buds bloomed today!

I've been feeding the pitcher plants the same frozen blood worms I feed my fish! I'm trying to go the fertilizer route because I think it may be easier than feeding in the long run. Outside a terrarium, I think they would catch plenty of bugs and such on their own.

While you can hand feed them if you want to some house hold insects you come across for the most part they will catch there own food.

I don't have bugs flying around in my house though.

I would think even with fertilizing they'd need bugs to eat.

I guess I could always catch flies to feed them. Can you over feed? If a flytrap had 5 pods do they each need a fly or just 1?

You can feed all your traps, it will actually do better since they are getting more food and don't worry new ones will grow!

it is possible to overfeed though. foods high in fat or too big for the trap can cause it to rot.

the new flowers look great Paul.

Thought I would share some pics of the bog I put together the other day. All the plants are either Lowe's or HD rescues. I am really proud of the VFT I managed to bring back from the brink of death. The d. spatulata and ping I actually picked up the same day I put the bog together and are still adjusting.
