I was just wondering because I think my summer 2012 project will be getting more temperate plants for outside growing.
They look like S. "Dana's Delight."
If you want a tall pitcher plant go for our Florida giant flavas. 4 feet tall!!!

I'm a fan of a lot of the horticultural varieties...been scoping out Meadowview's catalog and there are some AMAZING specimens.
Question, pretty much for DP since he has more experience with this type of thing. But anyone is welcome to join in.
Hurricane Irene is coming and the eye looks like it will hit me. Should I prepare my bog or anything, maybe drill some more holes or just completely cover it with a tarp or something? We are supposed to be getting around a foot of rain and heavy winds. Any help?

Dang... idk, Paul. Sounds like they could definitely use some protection from the winds if not the rain too. I might think about the tarp option personally.
The tarp option would be the easiest. I'd cut off any dying leaves so the plants don't get uprooted by the winds. I have the same problem to deal with, and I'll only have a few hours to prepare for it.
I went ahead and put a tarp on it. I put 2 bamboo poles in the middle so the rain doesn't sit there and crush everything and so the tarp doesn't crush anything lol. I added a couple heavy things leaning up against the edges to keep the tarp from flying away. This should be exciting!
